Methodology & Data Sources
The worst thing a travel tool can be is "AI-made-up." This page explains where our data comes from, how it's labeled, and when it's re-checked.
Data sources
- Permit & lottery rules: the official NPS website (https://www.nps.gov/zion/planyourvisit/angels-landing-permit.htm) and the Recreation.gov lottery system.
- Shuttles, lines & arrival times: NPS website, cross-checked against on-the-ground and community reports from peak season.
- Drive times: route estimates from mapping services, rounded up with a buffer for lines.
As-of date labeling policy
Every page on this site with factual conclusions carries an
as of October 2026 label.
Angels Landing is currently a Pilot Program and its rules can change season by season — we update the
label each time we re-verify, so every date you see corresponds to a real fact-check.
Where we stand
- Depth over breadth: we don't publish pages without a concrete deliverable (a time window, a decision table, a backup plan).
- All advice yields to official NPS information; when they conflict, the official source wins. Corrections by email are welcome.
- The waitlist only collects your email — no marketing mail, ever.
